You May Rake Leaves But...

You might moan and groan when it is time to rake leaves around your home in the fall, but here in the moutains raking for us begins in the Spring. In fact we have notice that inspection crews began April 19 inspecting for proper clearing. Raking and clearing makes our lot/homes look beautiful, but beauty is not the reasoning we use --fire safety is. Raking leaves and Pine Needles to clear 35 feet around any structure used to be the norm, beginning this year CDF is requiring 100 feet from any structure. I am tired already!
