What's Happening at Shaver This Year?

I will be updating my web site ValerieMortensen.com to show all the upcoming events for Shaver Lake in 2007. Give me a few days to post, and then after that you can visit my site to find specific dates of all activities from a Crab Feed to Wine Tasting.

It did not get down to two degrees last night as predicted. It was only 20 degrees at 6:30 this AM. Warmest morning in a few days.
This picture is of clouds hanging over Fresno, viewed from my deck. We are really looking forward to watching more storms come in--we could use more snow here at Shaver. I do understand that it has been cold enough that Sierra Summit is making snow continuously.

Great view isn't it? This was taken from the deck of a home now for sale at Wildflower Village. The views from this home are lovely!
We are supposed to get down to 2 degrees tonight. Brrrrr!

Shaver and the Summit were doused with rain most of the morning. At 1:45 it finally began to snow. A very light dusting of snow--just enough to make everything appear crisp and white.

Lake/ Fog/ Coast range

lake fog coast range

This picture was taken on Highway 168 above the dam at Shaver Lake. The big blue section, of course, is Shaver lake. The hazy white area beyond the lake and mountain ridge is Valley fog. Then past the fog, is a very narrow dark rim...before the sky begins. That is the coast range. It is amazing what you can discover at Shaver Lake. There are views where one would never expect them to be.
